NFL Football player Al Harris With the big game one day away, I thought I would post my 5 keys to a Packer victory. I'm not saying they are going to win, I'm just saying if they hit this list, they will have a great shot.

1. Slow down TO. Al Harris is a great, shutdown corner, but Terrell Owens is having a crazy year. The Packers don't have to shut him out like they did Roy Williams last week, just keep him out of the end zone and under 100 yards.

2. Avoid stupid mistakes. The Packers have played solid mental football the past 3 weeks, starting with the Vikings. The games before they had a lot of penalties such as false starts on the 1. They need to keep it up this week.

3. Avoid costly drops. This is related to the previous, but it is just as important. Favre's first pass was a short crossing route that Jennings dropped. That may not seem like a big deal, but it killed a drive and stalled momentum.

4. Injuries. A lot will depend on how many of the Packers defenders can play, and can play at 100%.

5. The Packers offensive line. They have really stepped it up the last 4 weeks, and they need to continue playing at a high level. The Cowboys have a strong defensive line, and a weak secondary. If the Packers O line can give Favre time to throw the slant, they Packers should be in good shape.

6. (Bonus) I almost forgot about him, hopefully the Packers don't: Jason Witten They need to slow him down as well. The Packers have been burned by tight ends before this season, they need to be careful.

Regardless of the outcome, this is gonna be one hell of a game on Thursday.

hey i am a hard core dallas fan and i think that this will be a close game but i think that dallas has just a few more wepons then the packers i mean not only do they have to stop TO and jason witten but marion barber and jones as well because they may not be doing a real good job this season but they can really hurt a team if they dont get stopped. i mean dont get me wrong i think that bret farve is a great QB but i think that the dallas Defense will contain him. but i dont think that the packers Defense can stop Romo because he has shown that he can throw on the run and can also run the ball nicely.

Thanks for the comments.

The Cowboys do have a lot of weapons, but so do the Packers.

This will be a high scoring game, it will probably depend on which defense can slow down the other team.

If the Packers can neutralize TO and Witten, the other Dallas weapons will hurt them, but hopefully not too bad.

Both John and you have valid points. It’s obvious that these are two very good teams and I expect that it will be a hard fought game. If I were as big a Dallas fan as John I’d probably expect them to win too. And as recently as a couple of weeks ago I thought that the Cowboys would win. But I’ve seen Green Bay improve as the year progressed and now I think that they have the edge. The Packers are clearly better at quarterback (that’s not a slam on Romo who I like very much). Bret has always had the physical tools and this year he’s really using his head. And the Packers secondary is both better and deeper than what Dallas can field. The tight end goes to Dallas.

On the other hand, it may just come down to who is most ready to play tomorrow. Or which coaching staff adjusts better to what the other team is trying to do.

One thing is for sure – It will be interesting.

I am sure the game will be competitive, and that both teams will have something to prove. I think Dallas will get the better of the 2. The last 2 games teams have showed that the packers defense can be run on , Jones and Barber are very talented and will open up the passing lanes for Witten and TO.

I think that the 3 games in 17 days, the injuries that are catching up with them , and their poor showing in Dallas will all contribute.

Saying all this, I bleed green and gold, and would like nothing more than to be shown wrong. If Green bay can get an early lead, they will take the crowd out of the game , and also if they can make Dallas one dimensional, their success is more likely.
